Twig Wreath......

I always like the idea of recycling, spending less and utilising something to its best that's why I like Garage Sales, Give Away as well local Thrift stores.
Last week I got a twig wreath frame work in a Garage Sale and I thought of decorating it.
I had some colourful ribbons, scrapbook sheets in my stock and that's it,so it was really a challenge for me to reconstruct the wreath.
I made some pretty paper rolled roses and it came out really natural.

As well I made a big rose from a brown paper bag which I got from the farmer's market to carry vegetables.
A red big bow in the centre is a added charm.

Yarn made WReath...

Today since morning I can hear wind gushing and yeah its fall knocking on the door.
Fall means holidays, harvest,Halloween and much more, this year I tried making some wreaths.
While in my home country its not a known festive tradition but after coming to US and seeing these festive decor on everybody front door really made me fascinated.
My window to the outer world is my laptop with helping Google, searched out some pretty wreaths. As I had been crocheting and have some left over yarns so I thought of making a yarn wreath. But I wanted to make a recycled wreath without spending much,so here are the ingredients-

1.A circular cut out from a box( boxes which are used to pack fragile items during moving) as I didn't had a wreath foam.

2. Some colourful scrap yarn left from previous project.

3.Ribbons and beads.

4.Needle and thread for sewing.

It is the yarn which made wonder,I crochet some lovely flowers and a bow. As well wrapped the circular cut out with yarn.
I stitched the flowers and the bow on to the wreath.

Crochet rose

A easy method of making a crochet rose which can be of various sizes.
It can be used for decorating different items like a crochet photo frame as described in my previous blog.

We need to chain 25 for a small rose or more for a larger version.
Double crochet in the 4th chain from the hook and then DC in every next chain till the end.
At the end secure your stitch and cut the yarn leaving a long tail.
Then thread your needle with the left over tail to weave it into and form a beautiful rose like this!

My creativity with crocheting!

For a long time I was looking for a creative crochet project, which can be made easily without consuming loads of time. So I came up with an idea of making a crochet photo frame,it is very easy, inexpensive as well requires less time may be an hour.
Materials requires-
Any old,corrupt CD.
A pair Scissors
Adhesive or glue
Few beads
Yarn
Crochet hook
And bit of crocheting skills

Method
Take a photo and paste it on CD accordingly, may require resizing.
Then crochet a border using colorful yarns to make the frame attractive.
Stick the crochet border on the CD, forming a outline circle.
You can decorate using some beads.
Crochet a rose or some easy to make simple flower and stick it on to the bottom of the CD.
And don't forget to stitch a hanging loop.

It's so simple and easy!

Final rugged pic!

O! no the rug is not rugged though the final result(rug) is really soft.
I completed my rug and also gave it a single stitch border.
The rug required almost 6 t-shirts of various size.
I used a real giant crochet hook but you can use little smaller than mine which you can see in one of my pic.

T-shirt rug!

I was tired of adding rounds to my Granny rectangle shawl when I came across a idea of making T-shirt rug.
It is less time consuming project as well inventive way to get rid of old, torn, faded t-shirts.
The materials required to get started are very basic-

Few old T-shirts may be 6-7 depending on the size of the t-shirts.
A pair of sharp scissor.
A large crochet hook.

There are tons of tutorials on internet which help us to turn t-shirts into 1-1.5 inch wide strips and a easy trick to join them.
It is really fun making a colorful rug and I am loving it !

My updated work!

I just changed my mind and planned to make a simple granny rectangle shawl. Though it sounds super easy but initially I had hard time finding out how to turn the Granny square into a rectangle. So I would like to share the link(http://sjlinus.org/Documents/GrannyRectangleInstructions.pdf) which I found during googling,it will help you to make the formative steps of the Granny rectangle.
I haven't yet finished the project but sharing some pics how it look till now-
